Nearly two years after the Eaton Fire, a pastor is still checking in on the same families, week after week, through Clergy Community Coalition. They are making sure that survivors’ voices lead the community’s recovery.
They’re not alone. Altagether’s neighborhood captains now cover more than 65% of Altadena. And Every Fire Survivor's Network has helped fire survivors get over $100 million in payments owed to them by the insurance companies. Real dollars to rebuild their lives.
As Altagether's Executive Director John Mayo says, “Long-term recovery only succeeds when power sits directly in the hands of the people who live here.”
This is what it looks like when a community refuses to let anyone go through this alone.
Through the Eaton Fire Relief & Recovery Fund’s recent grants, we’re proud to help keep Altadena’s recovery in Altadena’s hands.
