Yesterday PHS held its second PAWS Recognition Rally of the year. The theme was “Built for the Stage”. Students and teachers wore shirts that represented music artists or theatrical productions to represent the stage. Games were music-themed and included Grab the Mic, Lyric Trivia, and Song Quiz. Even the teachers challenged the students.

Also, students and teachers were recognized for success in swim, band, benchmark test scores, speech and debate, and more. PHS is definitely building students for successful futures! ❤️🐾💙

Students in Mrs. Ladner-Barnes' French classes examined the student protests (les manifestations scolaires) happening in France, reviewed French educational policies, and learned more about what a typical day is like for their French peers. Students were then given the opportunity to create their own slogans and signs in French to address educational policies they feel strongly about. Students didn't just practice their French language skills– they found their voices and brought the tradition of French activism right into the classroom! 🇫🇷❤️🐾💙

You don’t need to finish every page of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s dense prose to understand the weight of isolation. By stepping into the shoes of an outsider who refuses to bow to society’s judgment, you experience the story on a deeper, emotional level.
Centuries may change the clothing and music, but the battle between the individual and a judgmental society remains exactly the same!
Meanwhile, Ms. Elias’s junior class enjoyed their vocabulary scavenger hunt and a sweet treat while celebrating Pearl’s 1st birthday at PHS!

The lessons covered during Connect classes are making a meaningful difference at PHS! Mr. Stark and a few dedicated students are putting stewardship into action by enhancing our outdoor seating area. Through hands-on learning, students are developing a sense of responsibility for our environment while creating a welcoming space to enjoy the sunshine, fresh air, and the benefits of spending time outdoors.

We love to see it when students turn lessons into action and make a positive impact on our school!

Yesterday, our juniors took an important step toward their future as they participated in the Commit to Graduate Ceremony! We were honored to welcome Paige Roberts, Co-Founder of Pathways2Possibilities and current President of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, as our guest speaker.

Special thanks to the Junior Class Sponsors Mrs. Preyear and Mrs. McDonald, and the junior class administrator Mrs. Walker-James.
