Some of our people attended the MEMS Trauma Conference at the Golden Nugget over the last 3 days. Maybe one of the most beneficial parts of the conference is the Cadaver lab. The attendees were able to see the internal affects on the body when performing CPR.

‼️‼️‼️ MORNING UPDATE ‼️‼️‼️
Saturday, October 10, 2026 | 7:30AM

Following Hurricane Isaias’s passage, conditions across Jackson County this morning are improving. At 7:15 a.m., Trent Lott International Airport reported northwest winds near 7 mph, cloudy skies, and no rain reported in that observation. Drier conditions are expected today.

Local reports indicate storm-related power outages and a fallen tree affecting electric service in Gautier overnight. Most reported outages have since been restored across South Mississippi. A current countywide road assessment has not been confirmed, and motorists should watch for debris and traffic signals that may be out of service. Residents are asked to remain cautious around storm debris, standing water, and downed power lines.

If your home or property sustained damage from Hurricane Isaias, please report it through Jackson County’s self-reporting damage assessment tool:

Follow the prompts to provide the location and details of the damage, and upload photos if available. Please document damage only when it is safe to do so. Your reports help the Jackson County Office of Emergency Services assess the storm’s impacts throughout the county.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK
Saturday: Partly cloudy and breezy, with highs in the 70s and north winds around 10–20 mph. Drier conditions are expected.
Sunday: A cool start, with morning temperatures in the 50s possible, followed by afternoon highs in the 80s.

Thank you to our residents for taking precautions, following official information, and keeping safety first throughout this storm.

Our thoughts are with the communities that experienced the hurricane’s greatest impacts. We wish continued safety for residents, first responders, and recovery crews, and a swift recovery for the affected areas.

With storm response operations winding down, the Jackson County Office of Emergency Services is returning to its regular daily responsibilities, maintaining readiness and working with our partners to help keep Jackson County safe.

Stay safe, Jackson County.
