During FIRA USA 2026 in Yakima, regional economic devleopers, including the Port of Pasco and Chelan-Douglas Regional Port Authority, came together to learn about new innovations in the agricultural industry. At the conference, Reservoir unveiled its plans to establish a test farm in the Yakima Valley with staff at WSU Prosser IAREC. Last week, Port staff attended Columbia Basin College’s Power of Connection event, helping celebrate a community that invests in the future of its students. Together, the event raised more than $270,000 for student scholarships, opening doors to educational opportunities and brighter futures. Congratulations to everyone who helped make this event such a success!

Denmark is a global leader in industrial symbiosis, with initiatives like GreenLab and Kalundborg Symbiosis demonstrating how businesses can work together to turn surplus energy, water, and byproducts into valuable resources for other industries. During the Washington Ports & PUDs study tour, put together by the Center for Sustainable Infrastructure , port staff was able to experience how both locations work to advance Denmark’s green transition.

These models offer valuable lessons as the Port of Pasco advances its own industrial symbiosis efforts, including planning for a proposed Industrial Symbiosis Park and development at the Reimann Industrial Center.

By connecting local businesses and resources, we can reduce waste, improve efficiency, and create new economic opportunities throughout the Columbia Basin.

Dinamarca es líder mundial en simbiosis industrial, con iniciativas como GreenLab y Kalundborg Symbiosis que demuestran cómo las empresas pueden trabajar juntas para convertir el excedente de energía, agua y subproductos en recursos valiosos para otras industrias. Road work will take place on Railroad Avenue from approximately Oct. 13-21 to install a new waterline at the Reimann Industrial Center. Lane shifting operations will be controlled by temporary signal between Vineyard Avenue and Darigold. On Oct. 15, the roadway may be reduced to a single lane of alternating traffic, controlled by a temporary signal, between Vineyard Avenue and Darigold.

Hot mix pavement work on Railroad Avenue is scheduled for Oct. 21 from 8-11 a.m. Traffic will be controlled by a temporary signal between Vineyard Avenue and Darigold.

Please use alternate routes if possible and drive slowly through the area to help keep construction workers safe. Thank you for your patience as we work to make Reimann shovel-ready.

The Association of Washington Business dropped by the Port’s Reimann Industrial Center and Darigold’s newest milk processing operation as part of its 10th Annual Manufacturing Week. The Pasco site is Darigold’s largest of 10 plants in four states. Capable of receiving 8 million pounds of milk per day, the facility is nearing that level, as it currently averages 6 million pounds daily.

La Asociación Empresarial de Washington visitó el Centro Industrial Reimann del Puerto y la más nueva planta de procesamiento de leche de Darigold como parte de su 10.ª Semana de la Manufactura Anual. La planta de Pasco es la más grande de las 10 que Darigold tiene en cuatro estados. Con capacidad para recibir 8 millones de libras de leche al día, la planta se está acercando a ese nivel, ya que actualmente procesa un promedio de 6 millones de libras diarias.

RiverFest 2026 was a great day. Perfect weather, lots of people, and a large collection of community partners hanging out together in the park. Port of Benton Pacific Northwest Waterways Association (PNWA) and the Port of Pasco enjoy working together and our barge building project was a big hit with the kids!
