Clear River Electric and Water District Clear River Electric & Water District The Clear River Electric & Water District was incorporated by a special act of the Rhode Island General Assembly.

On January 1, 2025 Pascoag Utility District merged with Harrisville Fire District's Water Department creating Clear River Electric & Water District (CREW). A quasi-municipal utility, CREW provides Electricity and Water on a "not for profit" basis. Clear River Electric is regulated by the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission. Currently we provide Electric service to approximately 5,000 customers in Pascoag and Harrisville RI and 2,200 Water customers in Pascoag, Harrisville & Oakland-Mapleville.

CREW would like to inform our customers that Rhode Island Energy will be performing scheduled maintenance at its Nasonville Substation on Saturday, October 17, 2026, beginning at approximately 4:30 AM. (CREW’s power is normally routed through this substation.) The substation is expected to return to normal operation at approximately 3:00 PM that same day. During this time, CREW’s power will be routed through a different RI Energy substation. Power outages are not expected to occur but customers may experience brief flickers or minor interruptions in service during this maintenance window. CREW is asking our customers to conserve electricity during this time to help reduce the demand on the system while they perform their maintenance. Thank you!

Sometimes the job takes you where the bucket truck can't go! The pictures below are storm damage pictures from Page's Island on Pascoag Reservoir. Line crew had to take a boat out to the island to make repairs. Foreman Glen Derby and Linemen Craig Koprusak & Jay Nault were repairing a broken neutral on one house, wires down on another house and trees on the lines.

Our crews are getting ready, are you?
There is a wind advisory in effect from 8am Friday, September 25th until 2am on Sunday, September 27th. Northeast winds 15-25 mph with gusts 30-50mph are expected.
We are watching the storm closely. Please call 401-568-6222 for outages. Stay safe!
