The 9th Annual Anthony Bocchimuzzo Memorial Scholarship Fund 5K

Our Auxiliary Officers were out supporting the community, assisting with road closures and traffic control to help keep participants, spectators, and motorists safe throughout the event.

We are proud to support this annual community run/walk held in memory of Anthony Bocchimuzzo and to help make the event a safe and successful one for everyone involved.

Nor’easter 2026

Suffolk County Auxiliary Police officers spent the day braving 30-mph winds and rising floodwaters while helping keep residents safe during today’s Nor’easter.

A significant portion of the day was spent at the West Sayville Marina and along River Avenue near the Fire Island Ferry terminals, where officers worked to prevent motorists and onlookers from entering flooded areas and putting themselves in danger.

At high tide, water levels reached approximately 24 inches in some areas, making portions of the roadway completely impassable.

Our Auxiliary officers remained on scene throughout the day, assisting with traffic control, keeping people away from hazardous areas, and helping protect the community during dangerous conditions.
