Garvin County 4H Sh***un club members got some early practice for the Oklahoma State 4H contest. Attending and competing in the Panther Open Champions shoot were Coach Deana Andrew's, Cooper Crull, Casen Crull, Dakota Andrews, Alyana Kennedy, Austin Kennedy and Coach Dustin Andrews. Garvin County had a successful day with Overall Male Champion Dakota Andrews, Division Champion (male 6-9) Division Champion Alyana Kennedy (female 6-9). Congratulations to all of our members. We wish all of our members and coaches GOOD LUCK AT STATE!!!

The swine nomination process will be the same as last year. We will be requiring the following


All swine CVIs must indicate a negative test for Pseudorabies and Brucellosis after November 10, 2026, or originate from a Brucellosis Validated / Pseudorabies Qualified Negative Herd, have the VQ number and last test date (January test) recorded on the CVI, and be exhibited by the owner or immediate family member.

Garvin County 4-H Project Club Leaders, Club Leaders, anyone who has registered in Zsuites to become a certified leader! Each year, August 1 our 4H members re-enroll in 4-H. This is also true for our coaches, club leaders, and certified volunteers. Here is what I am seeing! Members have entered registrations, but are not completing the TWO mandatory trainings. I cannot approve you on the county level until I have seen your completed certificates. Oklahoma Respecting Civil Rights and Oklahoma Working with Minors. Please ensure you complete these trainings as our year-end report deadline is coming up soon.

Garvin County 4-H Club leaders, parents, and members. If you had exhibits exhibited at the 2026 Oklahoma State Fair in OKC, you may pick them up at the Garvin County Extension Office. anytime between 8 and 4:30 daily. We would like to have all projects picked up by October 9th. Please make this a priority, as we do not have storage for extra items in our office. Thank you!

Garvin County Certified Leaders, here is an opportunity to get more information for your clubs, project clubs, as well as your own kiddos. Put this date on your calendar. It's not only fun but informative. It is also an opportunity to support the SE District Scholarship presented each year at Roundup. DEADLINE IN ZSUITES IS DUE OCTOBER 23rd!!!
