A year ago, Basil was looking for an opportunity. Today, he's still thriving in a job he loves with one of our employer partners, Essendant.

During a recent tour, we were surprised to spot Basil driving by on his cherry picker and had to stop for a quick photo! Stories like his remind us that meaningful employment can create lasting change, opening doors to stability, growth, and a brighter future.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we are recognizing the importance of strong support systems, healthy communities, and meaningful connection. Healthy people help build strong families and thriving communities. 💚

“Jobs for Life has given me the ability to hit restart on my life. I really feel I have a second chance.”

Ayonia shared how participating in Jobs for Life helped her regain confidence and begin moving forward with a clear sense of direction. During the class, she was able to identify a path to address barriers related to her background and has already begun taking steps toward resolving them as she works toward a career job.

A key part of the Jobs for Life experience is connecting participants to wrap-around resources that help remove barriers to employment. This support helps open doors and create real opportunities for lasting change.

Georgia’s next governor will shape the future of our state far beyond Election Day. From education and public safety to taxes, health care, and workforce opportunities, the decisions made under the Gold Dome impact families and communities in every corner of Georgia.

As the 2026 race heats up around affordability, housing, education, welfare reform, and public safety, understanding the governor’s role matters more than ever.
