Attention Residents-The Village of Pecatonica Public Works Department will be flow testing and flushing fire hydrants Monday October 5th through Friday October 9th. Fire hydrant flushing and maintenance may take place at all hours. Flushing of the fire hydrants ensures their safe and reliable operation & also removes the accumulation of natural deposits in the water mains. Flushing may cause temporary discoloration of the water supplied to your home. This water is safe for drinking and cooking but may stain light colored clothes during washing. Please check the water for discoloration before starting your washer. If you notice discoloration in your water, you can clear your system by simply running your water for a couple of minutes. The Village apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the routine flushing of the water system.

Special Economic Committee Meeting. There will be a Special Economic Committee meeting on Monday, September 21, at 5:30 pm, at the Village Hall to discuss renovations to the Town Clock park at the corner of 4th and Main Streets. All Pecatonica Village Board meetings and Committee meetings are open to the public and the public is invited to attend. Seating for the public is limited. You can also submit comments to the board by email or write a comment and place it in the water bill drop box at Village Hall. All emails and written comments will be read at the meeting

Attention Residents- The Village of Pecatonica will be participating in Mosquito Control and Disease Outbreak Prevention for the 2026 Summer Season
The Village of Pecatonica will conduct adult mosquito control applications every Thursday night (weather permitting) starting May 21st and continuing throughout the summer months.
Pecatonica will be using products registered by the Illinois Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to combat mosquito-borne disease. In addition, residents should reduce mosquito-breeding areas on their property by tipping and tossing standing water and taking personal protective measures.
Residents with questions or who wish to be put on the call out list should visit www.clarkeportal.com/hotline or contact the Mosquito Hotline at 1-800-942-2555.

The Consolidated General Election

The Consolidated General Election for the Village of Pecatonica will be held on April 6, 2027, between 6:00am and continue until 7:00pm that day. Offices up for election include:

Village Trustees: THREE (3)-Four Year Term.

Petitions and nominating packets can be picked up on or after Tuesday August 25, 2026 at Village Hall. First day to circulate petitions for candidates seeking election begins on or after August 25, 2026. Petitions must include no less than 23 signatures, and no more than 73 signatures. Completed nomination papers will be accepted from Monday, November 16, 2026, to Friday, November 20, 2026, from 8:00am to 4:30pm and Monday, November 23, 2026, from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
