Weather Advisory from US National Weather Service Midland Texas: Ensure you have multiple ways to receive warnings! Another upper-level system approaches our area by the early to middle portions of this upcoming week. Shower/storm chances will increase across the region as it nears, especially for SE New Mexico and the Permian Basin. This system will bring tropical moisture to west Texas and southeast New Mexico. As a result, atmospheric moisture will be nearing record levels, and flash flooding will be our primary concern.

Another round of storms are expected to develop this afternoon across SE NM and far W TX. The primary threats with the strongest storms will be heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding, damaging winds, and a brief spin-up tornado or two. The greatest concern for the tornado threat will be across locations in the dashed yellow circle this afternoon through the late evening. Ensure you have multiple ways to receive warnings!

Weather Advisory from US National Weather Service Midland Texas: Rounds of heavy rainfall are expected to continue over portions of our western counties through tomorrow morning. Keep an eye out for any Flash Flood Warnings issued and avoid flooded roadways. Turn around, don't drown!

Additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall will spread over the southwest mountains, Van Horn Corridor, Guadalupe Mountains and much of southeast New Mexico again today through early Friday morning. Torrential downpours may quickly result in flash flooding.
