Thank you to Karin Velez for such an eye opening and impactful presentation at today’s Fall Business Luncheon. Her session on conquering decision fatigue was so timely and full of practical takeaways that truly spoke to the business owners, nonprofit leaders, and decision makers in the room. We learned so much about recognizing decision fatigue, cutting down the mental clutter, and putting simple systems in place to save our energy for what matters most.

Also, a big thank you to Cosentino’s Catering for the delicious meal. It was wonderful. We did not get event pictures because we were busy soaking in the teaching, but it was a truly valuable afternoon and we are so grateful to Karin for sharing her time and wisdom with us. Be sure to check out her website here: https://growthtablesbc.com/coaching

πŸŽƒ KIDS COSTUME PARADE AND HAUNTED HIGHLINE TRAIL
Our Kids Costume Parade is a little different from a traditional parade.
Just like last year, children and families will meet in the parking lot at First Baptist Church Peculiar.
At 10:00 AM, our costumed kiddos and families will be escorted down Broadway by our main Harvest Moon sponsor, Monkey Printing! πŸ΅πŸŽƒ
The group will travel down Broadway, across C Highway, and directly to the entrance of the Haunted Highline Trail.
Once on the trail, kids will make their way through and collect candy from 23+ local businesses, organizations, and families! πŸ¬πŸ‘»
No floats are needed. No fancy setup is needed. Just put on those costumes, meet us at the church, and join the fun!
πŸ”Ž HAUNTED HIGHLINE SCAVENGER HUNT
The Highline Trail fun does not end with the costume parade.
Our Scavenger Hunt will be available ALL DAY, so families can visit the trail throughout the festival and join in the fun.
πŸš‚ AND YES, THE TRAIN IS BACK!
After making your way through the Haunted Highline Trail, head toward Storybook Park, where the kids can catch the train for a ride back toward Broadway.
It is the perfect way to finish the trail and get everyone back into the heart of the festival!
🌯 COME HUNGRY!
We have an awesome lineup of food trucks and food vendors ready for you.
Check out the food truck image included with this post and start deciding what you are eating first because there are going to be LOTS of choices!
πŸ›οΈ SHOP SMALL AND LOCAL
Downtown Peculiar will be packed with artisans, makers, bakers, businesses, nonprofits, and more.

This morning’s State of the Chamber Coffee was a celebration of what we can accomplish when we work together.

As the Peculiar Area Chamber of Commerce celebrates 25 years, we are grateful for the businesses, neighboring chambers, community organizations, city partners, and volunteers who help move our community forward. Every shared event, new connection, and helping hand makes a difference. Our accomplishments belong to everyone who shows up and invests in Peculiar.

We were proud to recognize four outstanding members of our community:

πŸ† Business of the Year: Peculiar Games and Hobbies
πŸ† Nonprofit of the Year: Peculiar Lions Club
πŸ† Emerging Business: Rustic Threads
πŸ† Community Champion: Mayor John Shatto

Congratulations to each of our recipients! Thank you for the work you do and the ways you contribute to our community.

We also honored Amanda Chapin and Linda Martinez for their time, service, and dedication to the Chamber. We are grateful for the energy and care they have given to this organization and for their part in helping it grow. We wish them both the very best in their future endeavors!

Thank you to First Baptist Church for hosting us and to everyone who joined us this morning. We look forward to continuing these partnerships, creating new opportunities, and supporting one another in the year ahead.

Working together is how we help Peculiar thrive.
