📸 Flashback Friday - Ray-Pec Wrestling Family Legacy: The Herricks
The Herrick family has played an important role in the tradition of excellence that defines Ray-Pec Panthers wrestling. Dennis Herrick, a 1990 graduate of Ray-Pec, was a member of the Panthers’ 1990 Team State Championship squad, earning an impressive 2nd-place finish in the heavyweight division while helping the team capture a state championship.
Dennis’s brother, Bobby Herrick, was a 1989 Ray-Pec graduate who also made his mark on the wrestling mat, qualifying for the state tournament as a senior. Bobby’s impact on Panther wrestling extended well beyond his own high school career. He dedicated many years to coaching at both the youth and high school levels, playing an instrumental role in developing wrestlers and contributing to the continued success of the program.
The Herrick wrestling legacy continued through Bobby’s son, Clint Herrick, a 2019 Ray-Pec graduate. Clint became a three-time state qualifier for the Panthers, capping off his senior season with an outstanding 3rd-place finish at 182 pounds at the state tournament. His accomplishments carried on the family tradition of dedication, perseverance, and excellence on the wrestling mat.
From Dennis helping lead the Panthers to a team state championship, to Bobby’s success as a wrestler and years of coaching and mentorship, to Clint’s accomplishments on the state stage, the Herrick family has made a lasting impact on Ray-Pec wrestling. Their story reflects the generational commitment, passion, and pride that help make Panther wrestling such a special tradition.
The Herrick family represents the legacy of Ray-Pec wrestling, where dedication to the sport and the Panther tradition is passed from one generation to the next.
