Pelham Police Department This is the official page for the Pelham MA Police Department. Call 911 in an emergency. About 1,440 people live in Pelham.

The Pelham Police Department is responsible for policing a small, pleasant town with residences along 21 miles of road and is perched on the ridge that divides the Connecticut River's Pioneer Valley from Quabbin Reservoir and central Massachusetts. Settled in 1739 by Scottish Immigrants, Pelham was incorporated as a town in 1743. Its most famous citizen was Capt. Daniel Shays, who led a year-long rebellion against the courts and state officials who were seizing farms for payment of debts of families made poor after the Revolution. Pelham's Old Meeting House, built in 1743, is the oldest town hall in continuous use in the nation and is still the site of the Fall Town Meeting, often referred to as the purest form of democracy practiced widely in New England communities. A tradition of pride and independence are exemplified even today.

For an extended period of time the following closures will be in place to thru traffic due to scheduled construction

South Valley Road - starting after the library driveway to Harkness Road

Jones Road - starting at South Vally Road to Cadwell Street

These roads will be passable for residents only. No thru traffic.

The projected time of completion is in December

PSA : Hunting Season for Archery started Monday October 5th. Please keep your dogs on a leash, per Town of Pelham by-law, while hiking the trails. Hunters are not required to wear orange during Archery season per State Law.

UPDATE: Enfield Rd is now open.

TRAFFIC ALERT / POWER OUTAGE

The full length of Enfield Rd will be closed for an extended period of time to through traffic due to Eversource work being done. Residents will be able to come and go as needed. There will also be a power outage for a period of time as well.

We will update as soon as the work is complete.

TRAFFIC ALERT:
North Valley Road will be limited to one lane in many areas for the Highway Dept to perform Chip Sealing. Please drive slow and be cautious. Pelham Police officers will be directing traffic. This should last until about 4pm today Tuesday Sept 15th.

Meet Sydney!!

The Pelham Police Department is proud to announce that after applying, we have been selected to participate in the MassDOT Municipal Speed Feedback Signage Program. We will be able to monitor speed data amongst other statistical data. Over a period of time you will see Sydney throughout town. Our goal is to capture data and use this data to better assist in troubled areas where speed is a problem. Please be patient we will get to your road.
