My heart is with the students, families, teachers and staff facing an unimaginable tragedy at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend. I am praying for everyone impacted and for the law enforcement officers and first responders who responded so swiftly to this horrific incident.

We have to commit to protecting our kids. We have to put a complete stop to shootings at our schools.

This has to end.

I refuse to accept that skyrocketing electricity bills are inevitable.

Tina Kotek signed onto a lawsuit that is driving up rates by 6-7% for 1 million Oregonians. That is an unconscionable failure of leadership.

My plan will freeze utility rates and work to lower them by 20%.

As a mom of three who was spent time in the classroom, I want good schools for our kids and for them to receive a world-class education.

One in four teachers don’t feel safe in the classroom and our test scores in reading and math continue to be worst in the nation.

As the Superintendent of Public Instruction I will restore graduation requirements, focus on reading, support great teachers and empower them to keep our classrooms safe, increase classroom time and prepare students for success.
