This afternoon we bid farewell to one of our founding and most dedicated Penfield Hope volunteers, Joyce Greenwood. Her funeral Mass is at 3:00 at St. Joseph’s. She passed away on September 4. Along with her dear friend Mary Stutz, Joyce was among the first people trained by Webster Hope and she spent countless hours in the basement at St. Joseph’s when we started Penfield Hope in 2018. She and Mary started our diaper room, represented us with the Diaper Bank, and handled all of the inventory, ordering, picks, and deliveries of diapers until 2025. This June their service was recognized with a special blessing at St. Joseph’s. Joyce will be greatly missed but we know she will watch over us and continue to advocate from heaven for the clients who were so important to her. Thursday mornings at Penfield Hope will never be the same. Rest in peace, dear friend to all.
