Tuesday PM Update:
Bayview Senior Center is still without power, as of 7:00pm. Therefore, ALL PROGRAMS ARE CANCELED for WEDNESDAY, October. 14th. Once we regain power and City Facilities has cleared us for opening, we will open our doors. Power in the area was beginning to be restored this evening, so hopefully Bayview does not have much longer to wait! Stay tuned for further updates.
While our phone lines may be up, this does not mean we have staff ready to answer them. Please be patient with us while we regain power and begin to bring facility staff into the building. Email and Facebook are the best ways to stay updated on our progress in serving you.
Bayview staff has been working hard with our Recreation team to get as many community centers prepared for reopening as we are able. Addie, Jeremy, and Owen joined forces with staff from Woodland Heights and Cobb Center yesterday. As a team we cleaned up the playground, parking lot, building exterior, and crosswalks at Woodland Heights Resource Center. Today we met with the Bayview Community Center staff and worked on the centers we serve. We are grateful the building does not have any damage, but the exterior landscaping is a different story. We lost a ton of limbs and some trees in the park! The tree at the bottom of the hill next to handicap spots fell into the parking lot blocking the dog beach (aka Lloyd St) entrance. Parks and Recreation crews have been working tirelessly to clear our roads and driveways. We are happy to report that driveway was cleared today!
