Some people are made for the sand, sun and water and unfortunately, the Illinois River just doesn't quite have the right kind of beaches. It was a night of laughter, love and tears as we bid farewell to pilot Tom and his wife as they head on to warmer climates. We were blessed to have such a talented pilot with our Peru base for many years and we wish them well on their next endeavor. Don't forget us, Tom and Monique!

As a follow up to the post we shared on August 14th, we have the heartwarming pleasure of sharing Cal's first day of preschool photo! We wanted to take a moment to thank those first responders that were also integral in getting this amazing little boy to the definitive care he needed right away.

Shout out to Whiteside County Sheriff's Office, Morrison Police Department, Morrison Fire Department and EMS, and ISP for all of the great work!!

It's been a busy couple of days with Landing Zone classes and I think Congerville Fire Department started it off with breaking a record. The community members that came out to see the helicopter and meet the crew were like nothing we've ever seen at a class. It was amazing!

The next night, Pilot Cody showed up again as North Pekin hosted Marquette Heights and Creve Couer. They brought us a little cooler weather and a lot of great questions. 2 nights of great classes means better care for our communities! Thank you all for attending!

Phew!! This was quite a night! National Night Out was founded in 1984 (same year as OSF Life Flight😍) as a campaign to boost crime prevention. Throughout the years, the events have grown and we get invited to multiple towns each year. This year was one for the record books though. With 11 requests, we knew it would be next to impossible to attend them all. However, with creative scheduling, amazing teamwork, staying late, and some coming in extra, we were able to make it to EVERY SINGLE ONE! Granted, 2 were only able to be done as flyover. Our Flight Comm, pilots, and nurses coordinated and handed out helicopter tattoos in Erie, Oglesby, LaSalle, Ottawa, Princeton, Washington, El Paso, Spring Valley, and Rochelle, and waved at the crowds in Dixon and Rock Falls. With multiple bases throughout our service region, we are proud to be able to cover so much area when it is needed. This is truly a unique attribute of our program and we are ready to serve at a moments notice. 🚁🚁🙏

There are some patients that stick with you. This young lady was one of them. It was amazing to join Tonica Fire, and the rest of the crews, that were instrumental in aiding her after an accident last year. It's safe to say that there were some tears shed.

These amazing Mission Partners added another year of running for St. Jude to their list of accomplishments. Great job to flight nurses, Heather and Jill, and aviation mechanic, Bryan. When their legs got tired, they ran with their hearts!
