ποΈ π¨ Peoria Updates Rules for E-Bikes and Motorized Cycles π¨ ποΈ
Electric bikes (e-bikes) are very popular, and they can be seen across the city. But some of these devices are not legal to ride on the streets of Peoria.
ποΈποΈποΈ
Updated ordinance defining each type of device:
β’ Electric Bicycles (E-Bikes):
Lower-powered devices (under 750 watts, up to 28 mph) that are treated similarly to traditional bicycles.
ποΈ
β’ Motor-Driven Cycles:
More powerful vehicles capable of speeds up to or exceeding 60 mph. These are not permitted on public streets because they do not meet state licensing, registration, and insurance requirements.
ποΈ
β’ Electric Motorcycles:
High-powered vehicles that must be properly licensed, registered, and insured for street use.
ποΈ
Where You Can Ride
β’ E-bikes are not allowed in city parks, community parks, sports complexes, or municipal campuses.
β’ Motor-driven cycles may only be used in areas permitted by law, such as designated desert locations.
β’ Riders on streets and shared-use paths must follow all traffic laws and safety rules.

π€ Be a Good Neighbor β Check In on Our Seniors π
Our community is strongest when we look out for one another β especially our elderly neighbors who may need a little extra support. A simple check-in can go a long way.
Take a moment this week to:
π‘ Knock on the door or say hello
π Make a quick phone call
π Ask if they need help with groceries or errands
π Let them know theyβre not alone
These small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someoneβs day β and help build the kind of caring, connected neighborhood we all want to live in.
Letβs continue to show what it means to be a good neighbor. π

π Be a Good Neighbor β Slow Down & Drive Safely π
Our streets are shared spaces β where kids play, families walk, and neighbors connect. A few extra miles per hour can make a big difference.
Letβs all commit to driving like our own families live hereβ¦ because someone elseβs does.
β
Slow down in neighborhoods
π Stay alert and watch for pedestrians
π Stop fully and drive responsibly
Together, we can keep our community safe, one street at a time.

Peoria Launches Flexible On-Demand Transportation Program! π» π¨
π
Beginning April 1, Peoria Transit will provide on-demand shared-ride transportation service providing convenient, same-day rides throughout the city. As a result of the new service, the WeRide limited pilot service will end April 13.
π
Before using Peoria Transit services, all riders must complete a one-time registration process. This allows transit staff to create rider profiles that help identify individual mobility needs and schedule trips efficiently. Residents can register by calling (623) 773-7433.
π
Once registered, trips can be scheduled three ways:
β’ Peoria Transit Mobile App β request rides, track vehicles, and manage trips (Rides on Demand in Google Play Store)
β’ Online Passenger Portal β schedule trips via web browser https://peoriaportal.tripsparkhost.com
β’ Phone Reservations β call dispatch directly at 623-773-7435
π»
For more information about Peoria Transit or how to register for the program, visit www.peoriaaz.gov/transit.

πΎ Be a Good Neighbor β Pick Up After Your Pet! πΎ
Our neighborhoods are places where families walk, kids play, and neighbors connect. One simple way we can all help keep our community clean and welcoming is by picking up after our pets.
Pet waste left behind isnβt just unpleasant β it can also create health and environmental concerns. Carrying a bag on your walk and disposing of waste properly only takes a moment, but it makes a big difference for everyone who shares our sidewalks, parks, and green spaces.
Letβs show pride in our community and respect for our neighbors by doing the right thing every time we walk our dogs.
β
Bring a bag
β
Pick it up
β
Dispose of it properly
Together, we can keep our neighborhoods clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.
