Perham-Dent Public School District is a small K-12 school system which prides itself on an individualized and personalized approach to educating its students. Classes of instruction are relatively small; student support services are strong; and the curriculum programs are diverse. We believe all students can learn and, therefore, they deserve the best quality education we can give them each day in the classroom. We encourage critical thinking and try our best to instill a love of learning. We are confident we can ensure this outcome by building supportive, positive relationships in a culture of academic excellence. All of us - from teachers, custodians, cafeteria workers, administrators, maintenance crew, instructional aides, computer technicians, office personnel and all other staff - are a team focused on supporting the continued academic and personal growth of each student. We need one more very important part in our work and that partner is YOU. The success of our education system depends on our ability to continue building strong partnerships with businesses, families and community members. Working together, all of us have an important role in preparing our students for their future.

❓How is this a tax decrease for residents if the ballot says “Tax Increase”?

Don't be confused when you go to vote! State law requires this specific ballot question to be labeled a tax increase, because technically, that's what it authorizes: a new, voter-approved operating levy. But our school board passed a formal resolution in July committing to reduce other local levies the board controls, dollar for dollar, if voters approve this one.

For most residents, the net effect would be an overall decrease in property taxes.

HOTL second graders loved welcoming parents and special adults into our classrooms for The Great Fall Festival Mystery!

Students and their special adults worked together to read passages, answer questions, solve clues, and crack the escape room mystery to discover where the missing pumpkins were hiding! 🎃

It was wonderful to see families learning, laughing, and working together. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this a memorable afternoon for our second graders! 💛

HOTL 4th Graders went Troll Hunting today at DL Mountain! We enjoyed a beautiful fall day of hiking and exploring :)
Students and 4th Grade Teachers have many people to thank for making today possible. We would like to say "Thank-You" to:
*Family 549 Foundation for providing us with the opportunity to go.
*Our Bus Drivers for getting us there and back safely.
*DL Mountain Staff for allowing us to join them for the day and opening their doors for a great day.
*Parent Volunteers for taking time out of their days to help control the fun and make sure we all stayed safe.

Our third graders had a wonderful opportunity to learn about the Anishinaabe through a special presentation by Missy Hermes from the Otter Tail County Historical Society!

Students learned about traditional Anishinaabe homes, the foods they ate, and even got to see some of the toys children played with long ago. They also explored the meaning behind the 13 moons on Turtle’s Back and how they connect to the changing seasons.

A big thank-you to Missy for taking the time to visit our classroom and share her knowledge with our students! What a great hands-on learning experience!
