What would you do if you found a bat in your home? If you have any physical contact with a bat, even if you're unsure whether you were bitten, contact the OSDH Epidemiologist-on-Call at 405-426-8710. If the bat may have been in your home while anyone was asleep, this could also be a potential exposure concern. Bat bites and scratches can be hard to see, and rabies is almost always fatal once symptoms appear. When in doubt, make the call. We're here 24/7 to help assess your risk and guide you through next steps.
