From the National Weather Service:
Unfortunately, we just can't shake the heat and humidity this year. Here we are in mid October and yet another late season heat wave is impacting our region this week. While heat headlines aren't expected on Tuesday, we may still have some impacts across our region. High temperatures are forecast to break daily records in the low to mid 90s, which combined with unseasonably high humidity levels will produce heat index readings well into the 90s and even low 100s in a few spots. We may even break some all-time October heat index records. The good news is that much cooler weather arrives for the coming weekend, which even includes the possibility of frost for some of us by Sunday morning.

🚨 NO BURN ADVISORY – PERRY COUNTY 🚨

The Perry County Commission has issued a NO BURN ADVISORY for all municipalities within Perry County due to extremely dry conditions and no precipitation in the forecast.

These conditions create an increased risk of fires spreading quickly and becoming dangerous.

🔥 Please use extreme caution and avoid all outdoor burning until conditions improve and the advisory is lifted.

We ask all residents to do their part to help protect our communities, homes, property, and first responders.

Please share this message to help spread the word throughout Perry County.

Stay safe, Perry County!
