Melissa Olivero: PROVEN Experience That Speaks for Itself.
What does it take to serve as a Circuit Judge?
Managing a courtroom. Ruling on evidence. Finding facts. Applying the law. Ensuring a complete record. Making thoughtful, fair, and timely decisions.
Melissa is already well-versed in courtroom procedures and how local courts operate!
For 16 years, Melissa served in a federal judicial role, hearing thousands of cases and developing extensive experience in the courtroom.
Her judicial experience extends well beyond hearing cases. Her decisions have been affirmed by the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals. Her orders have served as models in nationwide litigation, and she has been sought out to mentor and train fellow judges.
Melissa developed judicial training materials, taught decision and order writing at national conferences, and recently organized a nationwide conference for federal judges.
Her path to the federal bench included a rigorous, merit-based selection process involving testing and interviews from a pool of more than 1,000 applicants.
Before her judicial service, Melissa also gained extensive trial experience as a prosecutor, trying hundreds of cases before local judges and juries.
PROVEN experience matters. So do temperament, patience, humility, dependability, and a commitment to fairness.
Serving on the bench carries a responsibility to be prepared, to be present, to respect the time of everyone involved, and to give each case the careful attention it deserves. These are important standards of judicial service and public trust.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Melissa remains deeply connected to the communities she hopes to serve. She has personally traveled throughout LaSalle, Bureau, and Grundy Counties, meeting residents, listening, and building meaningful connections.
As voters consider the qualifications and experience each candidate brings to the bench, Melissa’s extensive record of judicial service makes her the clear choice!
