🚑💙 National First Responders Day 💙🚑

Today, Twin Creeks EMS proudly honors all first responders who answer the call when our communities need them most.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, and emergency personnel for their dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to serving others. We are proud to serve this community and grateful for the trust you place in us every day.

Help us celebrate National First Responders Day by giving a shoutout in the comments to a local first responder, EMS provider, firefighter, dispatcher, or police officer who has made a difference in your life. A few kind words can mean the world to those who serve.

Thank you for allowing us to serve you and our community.

When driving this fall, slow down and use extra caution on leaf-covered roadways!

Wet leaves can make the roadway as slippery as ice and obscure traffic lines and other pavement markings.

Have you heard about the changes this year?

New regulations require ALL state game lands users NOT engaged in hunting, trapping, or fishing to wear fluorescent orange from October 1 through January 31.

Users are required to wear a minimum of 250 square inches of fluorescent orange on head, chest, and back combined OR a fluorescent orange hat.

Here are some extra tips for enjoying state game lands this fall:

- If you have a pet with you, we highly recommend a vest, harness, leash, or bandana.

- Backpacks can limit your 360 degrees of visibility. Add a bandana or covering to your backpack to ensure you're seen.

- Even if you’re horseback riding, you’re REQUIRED to meet orange requirements, regardless of safety equipment being worn. It’s suggested to have orange on your horse as well.

Our goal is to ensure ALL users, hunters and non-hunters alike, are as safe as possible on state game lands 365 days a year!

For full details, check your 2026-27 Hunting & Trapping Digest or visit our website at bit.ly/PGCDigest.

As a reminder, be respectful when using public land as other outdoorsmen and women may be nearby. Be mindful of current open seasons and be aware of your surroundings.

Su***de Prevention Month | You’re Not Alone

September is Su***de Prevention Month—a time to remind our community that asking for help is a sign of strength, and sometimes one conversation can make a difference.

Behind every uniform, every front door, every classroom, and every workplace is a person who may be carrying something others cannot see. You do not have to carry it alone.

The Huntingdon Borough Police Department, in partnership with Center for Community Resources/Juniata Valley Crisis, encourages everyone to check in on the people around you.

Listen. Be present. Reach out.

And if you are struggling yourself, know that there are people ready to listen and help.

Juniata Valley Crisis provides 24/7 crisis help and support throughout Huntingdon, Mifflin, and Juniata counties, including trained Crisis Specialists and mobile crisis services.

Whether you need help for yourself or are concerned about someone you know, reach out. Talk. Listen. Connect.

You’re not alone. We’re here to help.

Stronger Together. Our Community Cares.

September 11

Today, we pause.

We pause to honor the 2,977 lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless acts of courage that rose from the smoke and chaos of that morning.

We pause to remember the 343 FDNY firefighters, 23 NYPD officers, and 37 Port Authority officers who ran toward danger with unwavering resolve.

We pause to reflect on the strength of a nation that refused to break.

For every EMT, firefighter, police officer, dispatcher, nurse, and first responder—past and present—9/11 is not just a date. It’s a reminder of why we serve. It’s a reminder of the oath we take, the sacrifices made, and the unity that carries us forward.

Twin Creeks EMS stands in solemn remembrance today.

We honor the heroes who never came home, the survivors who carry the weight of that day, and the responders who continue to serve with courage and compassion.

May we never forget.
May we always stand ready.
May we continue to serve with the same bravery shown on that morning 25 years ago.

🇺🇸 Never Forget. Always Honor. 🇺🇸

CALLED TO SERVE

We were not called to live only for ourselves. We were called to serve, to show up when others are hurting, carry what is heavy, protect those who cannot protect themselves, and step into hard places with courage, humility, and love.

Serving is not always comfortable or noticed, and it does not require recognition. Sometimes it costs us our time, energy, sleep, pride, and comfort, but that is the calling.

Our fitness, the training we do on our own time and our own dime, and the time spent reading, studying, reflecting, and applying what we learn are not simply for personal achievement. They prepare us to serve others more effectively when they need us most.

Jesus did not lead by demanding to be served. He led by washing feet, touching the broken, feeding the hungry, healing the hurting, and ultimately giving Himself for others. If we claim to follow Him, service cannot be something we offer only when it is convenient. It must become part of who we are and how we live.

The highest calling is not status, attention, praise, or recognition. The highest calling is to love God, love people, and faithfully serve with whatever He has placed in our hands.

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

- Mark 10:45
