Thank you Mick Hetman for asking us for a group picture. Buffalo Trace Festival is always all hands on deck for our PD. Thank you to all our officers who worked the extra hours to keep everyone safe. It was a successful and safe fest all three days!

A big thank you to the Petersburg Moose Lodge for their generous donations to the Petersburg Police Department. The monetary donation will be used for buying items to hand out to kids at local community events. The bags of coloring books and Tommy moose stuffies will be kept in our patrol cars for kids in need after traumatic events! PPD is very grateful to our community and local businesses in helping us connect with our kids and have positive experiences.

Anyone recognize this dog. It appears he broke his cable. Found at Alford rd and Eastwood Dr.

With all the rain we’ve received, we figured it was time to unveil our “newest” patrol vehicle!….. not really, but the recent rainfall is a great reminder to use extra caution on the roads. Never drive through flooded streets. You can’t always tell how deep the water is, and it only takes a small amount to stall a vehicle or sweep it away.

A scam has been going around. Several local citizens have received phone calls from people claiming to be officers with the Petersburg police department and asking for personal information. Our department will not do this. If you receive a call from someone claiming to be with the department, it is perfectly acceptable to ask to hang up and call back to the department to confirm identity.
