A new home for our pfurry friends is one step closer to becoming a reality!🐾

City Council has approved the selection of a site for a potential pfuture Pflugerville Animal Welfare Services (P.A.W.S.) shelter, marking an important first step toward a pfacility that better serves our animals, staff, volunteers and community.

The selected property along Becker Farms Road near Lake Pflugerville features roughly 6 developable acres for a modern shelter that will alleviate the flooding, overcrowding and aging infrastructure concerns of the current facility. In addition to room for outdoor play areas and long-term growth, the location also offers easy access to walking trails and space for community programming.

So, what's next? Pfunding for a new shelter’s design is included in this fiscal year’s budget, and a design contract is expected to go before City Council by the end of the year.

There's still plenty of work ahead, but we're excited about the pfuture of animal welfare in Pflugerville!

🎥Take a look back at how it all began and hear the stories behind one of Pflugerville's longest-running traditions!

Celebrate with us from 5-11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Pfluger Park (515 City Park Road).

Things are looking sunny-side up for Pflugerville's breakfast scene!🍳

Scrambles has opened between the Pflugerville Public Library and Pflugerville High School, bringing a cozy new breakfast, brunch and lunch spot to our community.

The restaurant serves a variety of pfavorites, from pfluffy pancakes and hearty egg dishes to pfresh sandwiches and salads. Fans of Mexican cuisine will also find options like enchiladas, chilaquiles and migas, plus weekend-only specials like pozole and barbacoa sold by the pound.

Owners Ramon Diaz, Lupita Hernandez, Sandra Baza and Caesar Baza say the mix of cuisines is at the heart of their concept.

"The name Scrambles isn't just eggs; it's the mix of American food with dishes from San Luis, Guanajuato and Mexico City," Diaz said. "This restaurant is about family, and having a place where everyone can get what they want."

Tucked into a small shopping center off West Pecan Street at the intersection of 12th and Pfluger streets, Scrambles is open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and offers catering in addition to dine-in and takeout. Stop by and help us welcome them to the neighborhood!
