We did it!! My bill HB 135, supporting worker cooperatives, unanimously passed the PA Senate and will now become law.

Co-ops allow workers to fully own the products of their labor and promote values of democracy, sustainability, and self-determination. Co-ops are proven viable business models. We should do what we can to support co-ops.

This is commonsense, bipartisan legislation which will make it easier to start a worker cooperative by lowering the number of workers required to file from 5 to 3.

I’m a Democratic Socialist because I believe that working class people deserve more power in our economy. We need to build that worker-owned economy from the ground up, and through our shared values. I’m proud that we built bridges with lawmakers across both parties who were excited to support workers starting small businesses they could own and operate.

Incredibly grateful to work alongside co-op leaders in my district from Phila Area Co-op Alliance, coops across the state with Keystone Development Center and the larger ecosystem of small businesses statewide.

It’s our first day back for fall session and my foster benefits legislation finally passed the House, 202 to 1 🎉

For too long, money that was intended for vulnerable youth in the foster system has been intercepted and spent by counties. In Philadelphia and across the Commonwealth.

This money could be life changing for young people, who could use it to pay for housing, food, and education when they age out of care.

PA is one of the only states left in the country yet to address this loophole. This issue isn’t partisan — the federal administration has made it clear we need to act.

Proud to announce I secured another $800,000 in funding for the Clark Park Plan, bringing total grants my office secured for the project up to $2 million!

This Local Share Account award will replace sidewalks throughout the park that are in deep need of repair after decades of heavy use. This will improve traffic flow between park features and accessibility for the park’s many visitors!

We just secured nearly 4 million in State Grants, through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program! Highlights I’m proud of include:

⭐️ 500k to redevelop affordable housing units at the UC Townhomes
⭐️ 1 million for the Clark Park Plan, focusing on lighting, sidewalks and new picnic tables
⭐️ 1 million for expanding the CCP Career Advancement & Technology Center Welding Program
