City’s response to spill of a latex product into the Delaware River | Office of Emergency Management PWD continues to monitor a latex spill on the Delaware River that could impact Philadelphia drinking water.

The Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) continues to evaluate the situation to understand potential impacts to the public following the chemical spill in Bristol Township, Bucks County, on Friday. No contaminants have been found in the system at this time. PWD is still monitoring the situation and conducting testing and is confident that tap water from the Baxter Drinking Water Treatment Plant will remain safe to drink and use at least through 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, March 28, 2023.

Contaminants have NOT been found in PWD’s water system at this time. Tap water will remain SAFE to drink and use at least through 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2022.
