Today is National Mammography Day! Please come and see us in the canteen between 0900 and 1500 on Friday October 16th 2026. This is a reminder for women to get screened for breast cancer. VHA recommends screening for breast cancer with mammography every 2 years for average risk women aged 40 through 74 years. Women Veterans are encouraged to discuss their risk for breast cancer with their provider. Please call to schedule your mammogram: 215 823 5800 ext 207102. Mammograms are the key to the early detection of breast cancer and saves lives!

We welcomed a very distinguished guest to our hospital on Tuesday, October 13 in The Honorable Doug Collins, Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs. It was his first visit to our facility and one neither he or our Veterans and staff will ever forget. Secretary Collins greeted and engaged with Veterans, met with our Executive Leadership team, toured and met with VA researchers handling the magic mushrooms clinical trials for Veterans suffering from major depressive disorder who are not responding to other treatments. Secretary Collins, who served as a Chaplain in the US Army as well as a US Congressman, made it his mission to meet with members of our chaplains service to thank them for the sometimes thankless and often unrecognized work they do in feeding the spiritual needs of our Veterans. He capped off his visit by honoring 7 VA staff for their exemplary service to our Veterans. He promised to return and was impressed with what he saw and heard.
