Building an arena in the heart of our city would have a huge impact on Chinatown, Center City and Philadelphia at large. It demands full information and a rigorous public education and input process, which means we need a full set of impact studies completed by a qualified firm—not flunkies who will rubber stamp whatever the developers want. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Come to the march and rally on 4/29 to tell our elected officials that our city is 𝐍𝐎𝐓 for sale! ⁣⁣

We need YOU to join us for a march and rally on 4/29! ⁣

Did you know the arena developers have spent over a million dollars trying to lobby City Council to advance the arena? They want to ignore the facts that this arena would be bad for Chinatown, bad for businesses, bad for workers, and bad for Philly. The developers may have billions, but we have something they don't: YOU. ⁣

Make plans to join us on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 11 AM @ Tenth St. Plaza (10th and Vine Sts.) to tell our elected officials that Chinatown is here to stay! ⁣

It has been brought to our attention that a violent altercation occurred this week involving Asian students who were assaulted on their commute from school. This was an act of violence which was racially motivated. ⁣

These hate crimes cannot be allowed to continue against the AAPI community and we will not remain silent in light of these occurrences. ⁣

With respect to the privacy of the victims and their families, we ask that the footage of the incident not be circulated, shared, or reposted.

Immigrant Strong!⁣

This powerful image depicts two immigrant communities, Mexican 🇲🇽 and Indonesian 🇮🇩, coming together to stand in solidarity against family separation; no longer will we stand idly silent, rather we come together and unite in the opportunity to stand up for what we believe in.⁣ our struggle is beautiful and moving, and we are stronger together!

Immigrants are here to stay!⁣

Reuploaded due to technical difficulties!

As the Budget Reconciliation process is debated by Congress, it is important the steps it takes for us to achieve our goals of immigration reform. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
This is a substantial legislative measure that could bring much needed change to millions of undocumented immigrants who have worked and contributed to the U.S. throughout their lives. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Congress has proposed these immigration reform measures, which has the best chance of success for its requirement of a simple majority through the budget reconciliation process, alleviating the threat of the filibuster. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Currently, we are on step 5. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
There’s work to be done, and Congress must do their jobs!⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Thank you to for allowing us to share this important information⁣ and reposting their original post.⁣⁣

George Floyd should be alive today, surrounded by his family and friends.⁣

Yet, his life was lost in the hands of police brutality. So were too many lives of black men and women lost to oppression by a system that disparages them. ⁣

Today, this conviction is a necessary first step towards a deeper change for racial equity, accountability, justice, and police reform. ⁣

Our Black friends and families deserve more!⁣
