The Racquet Club of Philadelphia Founded in 1882, The Racquet Club of Philadelphia is one of the most prestigious private city clubs in North America.

The Club started its life in a modest facility at 923 Walnut Street. Under the leadership of George D. Widener, the current 16th Street Clubhouse was built by noted architect Horace Trumbauer. Historian Nathaniel Burt described the new 1907 Clubhouse as "by far the best appointed...of all Philadelphia clubs." The clubhouse is one of the first reinforced concrete structures designed in Philadelphia

All the scheduled fitness classes will resume taking place from the Fitness Class Studio from the 4th onward.

Tompkins Cup Returns to the Tour for the First Time Since 2019

The SDA Pro Tour continues this weekend with the return of the Tompkins Cup, a Men’s $20,000 event hosted by the Racquet Club of Philadelphia. Back on the calendar for the first time since 2019, when Zac Alexander and Jim Bamber claimed the title, the event marks a welcome return to one of the tour’s historic venues and adds further momentum to a busy stretch of the season.

Following the withdrawal of Josh Hughes and Kyle Martino, the top seeding has shifted to Philadelphia Country Club head professional and SDA stalwart John Russell, partnering NYAC professional Jaymie Haycocks. Second seeds Andrew Muran and Sergio Martin also headline the competitive field and will be among the primary contenders for the title.

There are several teams to watch as the draw unfolds. Canadian duo Josh Kay and Jackson Kay return to competition, with Josh making his comeback after a broken wrist sustained in the ProAm final in Pittsburgh. Their presence adds further depth and intrigue to the field.

Local interest will be strong throughout the weekend, with Philadelphia based pairings Sam Fenwick and Chris Longman, along with Yash Bhargava and Lucas Rousselet, set to compete in front of supportive home crowd.
