Wawa Welcome America Free Museum Day at Laurel Hill Mansion
On Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM, visitors are invited to enjoy a full day of free, family-friendly programming at one of Philadelphia’s most significant historic sites.
Guests can take guided tours of the mansion, enjoy traditional lawn games including Quoits and Co****le and crafting activities.
This Free Museum Day is part of a larger initiative in which historic East Fairmount Park houses open their doors free of charge, including:

Laurel Hill Mansion will be open for tours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

William Rawle, son of Rebecca Rawle Shoemaker at whose behest Laurel Hill was built was an early member of the Pennsylvania Society for Promoting the Abolition of Slavery. In 1805 he argued before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court that slavery was unconstitutional but sadly lost that case.

🎭 Introducing Voices of Laurel Hill Mansion
Women for Greater Philadelphia, in partnership with Casabuena Cultural Productions, is proud to announce Voices of Laurel Hill Mansion an original living history production that brings the past to life inside one of Philadelphia’s most historic homes.
Audiences will meet five historical figures connected to Laurel Hill Mansion and hear their stories in their own words, including Rebecca Warner Rawle Shoemaker, Samuel Shoemaker, Esther de Berdt Reed, Le Chevalier Anne-César de La Luzerne, and William Rawle.
Set within the historic 1767 mansion in East Fairmount Park, this immersive performance offers a powerful and personal look at the people who helped shape the American story.
