The Philadelphia Fair Housing Commission enforces and educates the city's fair housing laws made up by five members appointed by the Mayor. Established in 1962.

Commissioners decide disputed complaints through adjudicatory hearings and conduct investigations. The Fair Housing Commission enforces the Philadelphia Fair Housing Ordinance, Chapter 9-800 and 9-1200 of the Philadelphia Code. The law prohibits certain unfair rental practices by landlords against tenants. It also gives the Commission the authority to address unsafe and unhealthy conditions in rental property. http://www.phila.gov/fairhousingcommission/
