💭What might healthcare be like if instead of focusing on treating sickness and disease, it focused primarily on preventing both physical and mental illnesses across the population as a whole?…

🧘🏾‍♀️ Health is best defined as the soundness of mind, body, and spirit, health is not simply the absence of disease.

🧠 Sadly, persons struggling with mental health disorders generally receive less preventative healthcare, face difficulties accessing quality care, and have increased morbidity as an outcome of illness (Drugs, Roseniheck, Desai, & Berlin, 2002).

💭 Utilization of a wellness model is vital in mental health counseling because it focuses on striving for optimal functioning. Clinicians can work alongside clients in improving their lifestyle and changing habits for wellness.

🧠Perhaps the keys to adding more life to our years and years to our lives involves consideration of each dimension of wellness including spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, and social factors.

🚴🏼‍♀️Self care, lifestyle choices, relationships can combat disease, dysfunctional living and premature death.

🙏🏾I look forward to further exploring such topics as they relate to mental health counseling and emotional wellness more in 2025, stay tuned! 🙋🏾‍♀️

📣Calling on Black + Single Ladies! 📣

✨As a Doctoral Candidate👩🏾‍🏫 at Eastern University in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, I am conducting a study that will explore specific dynamics that contribute to singleness among Black women.

✨My research study will examine the shared experiences among millennial age, college educated, Black women, who have not yet found “the one,” despite having the desire to marry.

✨Would you (or someone you know) consider adding your story to the research in this critically important area? I am excited to explore this phenomenon! Please refer to the flyer below and/or message me for more details.

Thank you & Be Well,
Chimere 🙋🏾‍♀️

Cannot wait until this book 📚 is released Elizabeth Earnshaw, LMFT

Taking responsibility is a cornerstone of healthy relationships, and being able to take responsibility for your part is an important first step. It’s important to be honest with yourself about what you’re bringing to the table when it comes to chronic disconnection and conflict. When you can get clear on the things you need to shift, you also protect yourself from becoming overly responsible. Your contribution to the relationship is no longer nebulous; it’s clear.

To learn more about how to take responsibility for your part without overextending read my book I Want This To Work.
