Campaign For Working Families, Inc. Follow us on Twitter: CWF operates 20 community-based tax sites offering e-filing and public benefits screenings for SNAP, LIHEAP, Medical and CHIP.

Now in its 18th year, the Campaign for Working Families provides free tax filing assistance so Philadelphia families can maximize federal and state tax credits without paying sky-high fees to commercial tax preparers. We also offer Savings Bonds, Pre-Paid Cards for direct deposit of your Tax Refund and Payroll Check to help clients save money. Since our founding, CWF has prepared and e-filed 275,000 tax returns and brought $380 million in federal refunds to working families throughout Philadelphia. CWF’s free tax prep services saved these families an additional $72 million in fees and charges for tax preparation, check cashing and loans. Additional information can be found at www.cwfphilly.org

As temperatures start to drop, now’s the time to check if you qualify for the PECO Customer Relief Fund. It provides a one-time $500 credit for eligible customers’ heating and cooling bills. This program is designed to relieve some of the financial pressure and help families breathe easier. Unlike payday loans or quick fixes, this support does not dig families deeper into debt; it gives them a chance to catch up and reset.

Eligibility is simple: you must be a PECO customer, your past-due balance must be under $2,000, and your household income must fall within certain guidelines. For many, that means help is within reach, but only if they take the step to apply.

Because everyone deserves the lights to stay on, the heat to run, and the peace of knowing their family is cared for.
