Each year the Old Pine Conservancy replaces over 200- 13 Star American flags, donated by the Sons of the American Revolution. These flags rest on the graves of the American Revolutionary War veterans in this historic graveyard. Members of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Boy Scouts from Pack 176 joined Kevin Williams and Brendan Shanahan of the Old Pine Conservancy and Alice Reyes of Old Pine Street Church. A special Adopt a Patriot donation was made to the DAR in appreciation for their continual support. About a month ago (April 21, 2025), Old Pine Conservancy lost a beloved board member and dear friend—Joel Spivak. Joel was an artist, carpenter, and an entrepreneur. He was kind and knowledgeable, and an active contributor not only Old Pine, but to many Philadelphia programs. Old Pine will carry on the memory of Joel Spivak, and keep him in our hearts forever. If you would like to read more about Joel’s amazing life, check out this beautiful obituary written about him in the Inquirer: https://www.inquirer.com/obituaries/joel-spivak-artist-promoter-20250430.html
We love you Joel, and we will miss you very much. Blessings to Joel and his family ❤️
