Challenging and reducing intergenerational poverty in Philadelphia. Our roots run deep in both the Episcopal community and the field of social work.

Founded to coordinate the anti-poverty work of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania, our work has evolved with the changing needs of Philadelphians. Responsible evolution is a part of our legacy.

Today, we honor Juneteenth and a day of reflection, resilience, and celebration.

Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing pursuit of freedom, equity, and opportunity for all.

At ECS, we celebrate the strength of our communities, the contributions of Black Americans, and the work that continues to build a more just and inclusive future.

Freedom. Resilience. Joy.

šŸ’™ Thank You, Senior Wellness Works Community! šŸ’™

Yesterday marked the conclusion of our 6-week Senior Wellness Works program, and we're filled with gratitude for everyone who joined us along the way.

Over the past six weeks, participants came together to learn, share experiences, and explore practical ways to support their health and well-being. From conversations about managing diabetes and high blood pressure to building healthier daily habits, each session was filled with meaningful discussion, encouragement, and connection.

Thank you for your participation, your openness, and the sense of community you helped create. We are inspired by your commitment to living well and supporting one another.

Here's to continuing the journey toward better health, one step, one choice, and one connection at a time.

šŸ’™ Stay well. Stay connected. Keep investing in yourself.

Food access is about more than groceries on a shelf or meals on a table.

For many individuals and families across Philadelphia, access to healthy food is directly connected to stability, wellness, dignity, and opportunity. When families have reliable access to food, they are better able to focus on work, school, health, and long-term goals.

At Episcopal Community Services (ECS Philly), our Open Choice Pantry is designed to support families with dignity while helping address food insecurity across Philadelphia communities.

What does Economic Mobility look like at ECS Philly?

It looks like stability. It looks like paying rent on time, putting food on the table, finding reliable childcare, landing a better job, or saving for the future.

For many individuals and families in Philadelphia, it is about having real access to opportunities that help them move forward, not just get by.

At ECS Philly, we know economic mobility is not a single moment. It is a journey built through support, connection, and opportunity, one step at a time.
