Jordan Harris is a Democrat representing South and Southwest Philadelphia’s 186th District in the PA House of Representatives.
Did you know 90% of kids will read a book they pick versus one they are assigned?
Just in time for summer, I partnered with Scholastic Books in my district to give out free books and hand out ice cream at
The summer slide is real for a lot of students, so it’s important for them to continue learning!
While I was speaking on a panel at the 56th Annual World Trade Center Association Global Business Forum in Philly, someone hit me with the classic question: what’s the best cheesesteak in the city? Of course, I had to break down my thoughts on that!
Last week I stood with Senator Hughes, Senator Haywood, Senator Williams, Rep. Andre Carroll, directors of victims services, and community members for the Philadelphia VIP Grants press conference.
This funding is used to reduce gun violence and expand after-school initiation, with over $65 million in VIP and boost grants have been awarded statewide to 177 projects and over $23 million was awarded to 61 projects in Philadelphia.
We are so grateful for the work so many people have done to make this progress, but we know there is still much to be done.
This is 42! Grateful to see another year of life…last few haven’t been easy but I’m still here and I’m thankful🙏🏾
During my recent visit to John Bartram High School, I sat on a panel with other alumni to share our experiences and career journey after high school. 🏫
We shared lessons and advice on networking, communication skills, and persevering. It was great to interact, network and talk with the next generation of graduates. 🎓
I can’t wait to see what you all do next, AND seeing my hall of fame photo back up on that wall next time I visit 😂🥴🥴😂😆
And you thought Monday was busy….

As MJ once said, I’m “working day and night” for the people of Pennsylvania, especially the 186th district 💪🏾 ✌🏾 🏛️
Thanks so much to everyone that came out today and to our amazing partners…
April really flew by.
From Philadelphia to Harrisburg, and across Reading to Pittsburgh — it was a full month of getting things done: connecting with students in classrooms and at the Capitol, meeting with advocates, hosting press conferences and panels, introducing the Governor’s budget and passing it in the PA House… and most importantly, celebrating my mom’s birthday! 💼🏛️🎉
Grateful for the work, the people, and the progress made and we’re just getting started. 💪🏾
Just a friendly reminder ⤵️
As we kick off May, join us this Saturday at 1300 Point Breeze Ave for the Thriving Together Expo. Hope to see you there!
