Wissahickon Environmental Center- Tree House The Wissahickon Environmental Center is part of Philadelphia Parks and Recreation. It is located at the northern end of the Wissahickon Valley Park.

We provide a range of programming for school groups and the public.
The Wissahickon Environmental Center provides environmental education to families throughout Philadelphia, offering public and school programming. As park of Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, we also "advance the prosperity of our city and the progress of her people through intentional and sustained stewardship of public land and waterways as well as through safe, stimulating recreation, environmental and cultural centers. We help Philadelphia and its citizens grow by connecting people to the natural world, to each other, and to fun, physical and social opportunities." Any use of any part of the Tree House, Andorra Natural Area, Wissahickon, or the Fairmount Park System requires a permit. [email protected] for details.

We have unfortunate news from the PA Department of Environmental Protection and PA Fish and Boat Commission that due to high levels of "forever chemicals" found in fish in the Creek, fish should be considered unsafe to eat. More information will be coming at a community meeting Thursday, Nov. 6, from 6-7 p.m. at the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education held by PA Fish and Boat.
