LAST CALL: Philadelphia Muslim Mental Health Resource Guide

The Mayor’s Office of Muslim Engagement is creating a Philadelphia Muslim Mental Health Resource Guide to help connect individuals and families with accessible, culturally responsive, and faith-aware care.

We are seeking submissions from:

• Therapists
• Counselors
• Social Workers
• Psychologists
• Psychiatrists
• Mental Health Organizations
• Wellness Providers
• Muslim-serving support organizations

The guide will be shared with community members, faith leaders, and institutions across Philadelphia and will support the launch of Connected for Care: A Masjid Mental Wellness Partnership Initiative.

PHL City ID Mobile Site Coming to Northeast Philadelphia – June 11

The Mayor’s Office of Muslim Engagement is partnering with NCACs–Action Center 6 to host a PHL City ID Pop-Up Mobile Site at Russo Recreation Center on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

The PHL City ID is a government-issued photo identification card available to Philadelphia residents ages 13 and older. The ID can be used to access City services, check out library books, open bank accounts at participating institutions, access discounts, and more.

Sakinah in the City 2026: 2nd Annual Muslim Mental Wellness Summit

Healing Together: Faith, Wellness & Belonging

Across Philadelphia, many individuals and families are navigating the effects of violence, grief, stress, social isolation, family challenges, and growing mental health concerns. Hosted by the Mayor's Office of Muslim Engagement, the Mayor's Commission on Muslim Engagement, and Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services, this summit will bring together faith leaders, mental health professionals, educators, community organizations, and community members for a day of reflection, learning, dialogue, and partnership.

Together, we will explore:
• Mental wellness and belonging
• Youth development and community safety
• Family relationships and healthy communication
• Reentry and community reintegration
• Faith leadership, accountability, and community healing
• Access to care and community support

The summit will also launch Connected for Care: A Masjid Mental Wellness Partnership Initiative, a new effort to strengthen partnerships between Philadelphia masaajid and trusted mental health professionals.

PEACEFUL MUSLIM FAMILIES LEADERSHIP TRAINING – REGISTRATION OPEN

The Mayor’s Office of Muslim Engagement, in collaboration with the Families Initiative and the Majlis Ash Shura, is hosting a leadership training for Imams, chaplains, Muslim scholars, and community leaders focused on supporting healthy Muslim families and strengthening faith-informed approaches to accountability, safety, healing, and family wellbeing.

This training serves as the first offering within the new:

MUSLIM FAITH LEADERS CARE & RESPONSE INITIATIVE

This city-supported initiative is designed to strengthen the capacity of Muslim faith leaders and community caregivers to better support individuals, families, and communities navigating crisis, trauma, mental health challenges, emergencies, chronic health concerns, and family harm.

Topics will include:
• Islamic guidance on family wellbeing and protection
• Understanding family violence and harm prevention
• The pastoral role of Muslim faith leadership
• Faith-informed approaches to accountability and healing
• Connecting families to trusted community and professional resources

Masjidullah in collaboration with The Mayor’s Office of Muslim Engagement, invites Imams, board members, principals, operations leaders, and masjid security teams to attend a focused Security Briefing this Saturday, May 23 at 1:00 PM.

Topics will include:
• Threat awareness and current security protocols
• Practical protective tactics for masajid and schools connected to masajid
• Emergency preparedness and coordination strategies
• Funding opportunities and security infrastructure resources

Presentations will include representatives from:
• Philadelphia Police Department
• Counterterrorism Unit
• Sheriff’s Office

We encourage every masjid and Muslim institution to send representatives.
