Official City page Starr garden was the very first public recreation facility in the city of Philadelphia, and opened in 1911.
It takes up the entire block of 600 Lombard St. in the historic Society Hill section of Philadelphia. It includes a full size sport field, a baseball field, a "spray-ground" and two basketball courts.
