We help after disasters, supply blood, teach lifesaving skills and serve veterans & military.

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Region of the American Red Cross serves approximately 4.2 million people in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties. Our region provides food and shelter in emergencies, assists members of our armed forces and their families, teaches lifesaving skills, collects lifesaving blood, and so much more. All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.

In addition to being Juneteenth, today is also World Sickle Cell Day. You've heard us talk a lot about sickle cell disease leading up to todays I Bleed For Preston & Steve blood drive. That's because blood transfusions are a common treatment for those living with sickle cell.

However, people who receive frequent blood transfusions can develop an immune response to blood that is not closely matched . The more blood you receive, the more likely a reaction will occur.

Sickle cell disease is the most common genetic disorder in the U.S., affecting an estimated 100,000 people, most of whom are of African or Latino descent. Sickle cell warriors are more likely to find a compatible blood match from a donor of the same race or a similar ethnicity.

Having a diverse blood supply that meets the needs of our community is critical. Your blood donation may be the key that helps save someone's life.

Rob had the the first appointment at last year’s historic 20th anniversary The Preston & Steve Show blood drive. Believe it or not, last year‘s drive fell one short of 22,000 total blood donations through the years. As the first donor again this year, Rob has that distinction! thanks for helping to save lives, Rob❣️
