On this Thankful Thursday of National 4-H Week, we send a special shoutout to a few members and volunteers.

1. Tomorrow the Barbour County 4-H Horticulture Team travels to Kalamazoo, Michigan to compete in the National Horticulture Contest! We are thankful to WV 4-H, WVU and all of our supporters for this opportunity to represent WV on a national level.

2. Last weekend, we celebrated some Barbour County 4-H volunteers for their unwavering support and love of the 4-H program.

3. Harvesting a sweet potato variety trial with the help of awesome cooperators and Heather Perkins!

Monday evening a bunch of our 4-H youth and volunteers came out to celebrate GO GREEN with National 4-H Week! 🍀 🍀 🍀 🍀

We celebrated by having fellowship, reading the Proclamation and singing 4-H songs.

Enrollment is open for the new year! All members need to re-register for the 26-27 year. Our office will be doing weekly enrollment incentives for 4-H members that register in the month of October. Register now to be entered into a drawing each week of October. Let's grow our 4-H family!

4-H is open to all youth between the ages of 5 to 21. Youth aged 8 (as of 6/30/26) to 21 (as of 9/30/27) can join as a 4-H member.

Youth aged 5 to 7 (as of 6/30/26), who are interested in the practices of 4-H can start in the Cloverbud program, which focuses more on fun and social activities that set the stage for future learning! 🧠

Celebrate National 4-H week by posting and tagging our office page to be entered into daily drawings. Those that post for each day (1 member & 1 volunteer) will also be placed into a drawing at the end of the week for a $50 shopping spree on the 4-H mall.
