Do you see this nearly empty ambulance bay? Now, imagine calling 911 during an emergency and not having an ambulance available to respond.
Itās a reality many rural EMS services across Kansas work hard to prevent every day. Right now, Phillips County EMS has two ambulances out of service for repairs, and we are working toward replacing one of them. To maintain coverage over the next few days, we moved ambulances from some of our outlying stations into Phillipsburg.
We are incredibly fortunate to have eight ambulances positioned throughout Phillips County. That gives us the flexibility to move resources when trucks require repairs or call volumes increaseābut those ambulances still need trained volunteers ready to respond.
We are thankful for every volunteer who steps up when needed and for the continued generosity of our community, local organizations, and foundations. Your support keeps our ambulances rolling and helps ensure someone is there when our community calls for help.
