Come join us for an afternoon filled with Halloween fun, sweet treats, creative costumes, and community spirit!

🚗🎃 WANT TO JOIN IN ON THE FUN? DECORATE YOUR TRUNK!

Everyone is welcome to participate! We invite residents, families, local businesses, and community organizations to get creative, decorate their vehicles, and help us make this a fun and memorable Halloween for the kids!

If you would like to participate by decorating your trunk and handing out treats, simply arrive at The Common around 2:30 PM for setup!

Whether you go all out with spooky decorations or keep it simple, we’d love to have you be part of the fun! 🧡

Events like this are about so much more than candy and costumes. They’re about bringing our community together, making memories, and giving our residents and children an opportunity to get to know the people who serve and protect our town.

🚨🌧️ NOR’EASTER HEADING OUR WAY – STORM PREPAREDNESS NOTICE 🌧️🚨

The Phillipston Police Department would like to make residents aware of an approaching Nor’easter expected to bring heavy rainfall to our area. According to the National Weather Service, our region could receive approximately 2–3 inches of rain, with higher amounts possible in other parts of Massachusetts.

Timeline is approximately 6pm through Monday

We encourage all residents to take a few precautions ahead of the storm:

🌧️ Be prepared: Secure outdoor furniture, trash barrels, and other loose items. Check that gutters and drainage areas are clear of debris.

🚗 Use caution when traveling: Heavy rainfall may cause localized flooding, standing water, and reduced visibility. Never attempt to drive through flooded roadways.

🌳 Watch for downed trees and power lines: Saturated ground and strong winds may increase the risk of falling trees and power outages. Always treat downed wires as live and stay a safe distance away.

🔦 Prepare for possible power outages: Charge electronic devices and have flashlights, batteries, and necessary supplies readily available.

Our officers will be out monitoring road conditions and responding to calls as needed. Please use caution if you must travel and allow yourself extra time to reach your destination.

📞 For emergencies, dial 911. Please report hazardous road conditions, downed trees, and other storm-related concerns to the appropriate authorities.

🐾 COMMUNITY NOTICE – WORKING DOG TRAINING 🐾

The Northeast Houndsman will be conducting their annual training in our area beginning Sunday, September 20th through Thursday, September 24th.

During this time, you may see handlers and their working dogs throughout Phillipston and the surrounding communities. Please do not be alarmed if you see them out and about. These are working dogs participating in organized annual training exercises.

We ask everyone to please be aware, use caution when traveling through areas where training is taking place, and allow the handlers and dogs plenty of space to work.

And, of course, if you see them out there, give them a wave and wish them a great training week! 👋🐕‍🦺

Phillipston Police Department is proud to be part of the Worcester County Comfort Dog Collaborative! 🐾💙

Through this collaboration, Officer Laura Gordon and K9 Ziva will join law enforcement agencies throughout Worcester County in helping provide comfort and support to individuals experiencing trauma, crisis, or other difficult situations.

K9 Ziva is an important addition to our community policing efforts and will serve as another resource to help us connect with and support the people we serve. We are grateful to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and the COSSUP grant program for making this collaborative possible and for recognizing the positive impact comfort dogs can have within our communities.

We are excited to see Officer Gordon and K9 Ziva represent Phillipston as part of this program and look forward to the many ways Ziva will be able to support our residents and surrounding communities.

Please join us in congratulating Officer Gordon and K9 Ziva on this exciting new partnership! 🐾

🚨 TRAFFIC NOTICE – STATE ROAD / ROUTE 2A 🚨

Please use extra caution on State Road (Route 2A) in the area of Ward Hill Road tonight.

Line crews will be working in the area beginning at approximately 9:00 PM and continuing until the job is complete.

If you’re traveling through the area tonight, please slow down, stay alert, and give the crews plenty of room to work safely. With work taking place after dark, your attention behind the wheel is especially important.

As always, please keep an eye out for workers, equipment, and any traffic pattern changes.

🚧 Road Closure Notice – Tue. August 11, 2026 🚧

Good morning, Phillipston!

Please be advised that Baldwinville Road will be closed one way from the Phillipston Town Common to State Road for roadway repairs. There are detour signs set up!

✅ Traffic will be able to travel on Baldwinville Road from State Road to the Town Common.

The Phillipston Highway Department is working with Mass Broken Stone today to repair the sides of the roadway. Please use caution in the area, follow the detour signs and expect minor delays while crews complete this important work.
