Congratulations, welcome (and “re-welcome”) to our newest Arizona National Guard chaplain, CH (1LT) Benjamin Starks!
Yesterday here at the U.S. Army Institute for Religious Leadership, we promoted Benjamin and conducted the oath of office from Chaplain Candidate to Chaplain with CH Starks’s wife Sara and onlooking CHBOLC classmates.

Last week held a momentous occasion as Chaplain (MAJ-R) Fr. Craig Friedley conducted an oath of office with Fr. Estevan Wetzel (now Chaplain (1LT) Wetzel) before the student body of the John Paul II High School in Litchfield Park!
It was a powerful reminder of the unwavering commitment to service and duty. As a valuable member of our community, Chaplain Wetzel not only offers spiritual guidance and religious support, but also exemplifies selflessness and leadership every step of the way.
His dedication is a beacon of inspiration, reminding us all of the importance of leading by example. Let us join together in congratulating Fr. Wetzel in this step and wishing him well as he heads to Ft. Jackson, SC for the Chaplain Basic Officer Leadership Course next month. 🇺🇸🙏
