🏘️ Middle housing fills the gap between single-family homes and large apartment buildings.

πŸ“ˆ It helps increase housing supply, offer more affordable choices, use infrastructure more efficiently, reduce displacement pressure, and support people through various life stages.

🏜️ And it's a necessary tool to support housing for all of Arizona.

πŸ† This year, we introduced several new awards as part of our Annual Awards Ceremony. One of those was the Champion of Affordability award.

🏑 This award honors elected leaders who go beyond rhetoric and take seriously what it means when housing is out of reach. These champions see the reality of housing and choose to lead through it with the persistence and partnership that real progress requires.

🧑 Representative Sarah Liguori (left) understands that affordable housing isn't a feeling or a value statement β€” it's zoning law, tax credits, land costs, financing structures, and the willingness to stay in rooms where those things are being decided even when the conversation is slow and frustrating. Arizona needs lawmakers who treat housing as a policy problem to be solved, not a talking point to be positioned... and Representative Liguori does that.

🧑 Senator Shawnna Bolick (right) has fought to eliminate barriers in receiving stable housing, taken on design review processes that drive up costs and slow down construction, and been a consistent voice for people exiting the criminal justice system who need a real path back to stability. She is vigilant in a way that has made a real difference for housing.

πŸ‘ Join us in congratulating Senator Shawnna Bolick and Representative Sarah Liguori as they continue to fight for those experiencing housing instability across Arizona.
