The Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival runs Fri Oct 23, Sat Oct 24 and Sun Oct 25, from 5 PM at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale. We'll be there at least two evenings, likely Friday and Saturday. This is separate from the PCH 5K, which is Saturday morning (and also named the same). Come say hi. We’re excited to have over 20+ hot air balloons from around the country join in the Halloween festivities this year! Each balloon will be a trick-or-treat station with candy & treats handed out all night long!

Mountains are part of how we think about MAJJK. This is the view of the northern Phoenix Mountain Preserve from PCH, and the name came from a hike after discharge. Our team is running the Spooktacular 5K at Phoenix Children's on Sat Oct 24. We are shooting to be a top 5 team in order to get a booth to get our name out there more. Roughly $2500-3000 gets us a booth at the event and we're at $480.

FOX10's AZ AM went live from the Papago Park the morning of the hike for a brief community segment. Melissa and I got a few minutes to talk about who this is for. First Heart Hike is in the books. 103 people registered at Papago Park on Oct 3 and we raised $5,780 for families dealing with long CVICU stays at Phoenix Children's. Thanks to everyone who showed up, donated, volunteered, walked, and promoted. Photos and videos coming over the next few weeks. 💙 ❤️ Today is World Heart Day. Congenital heart disease is the most common birth defect, affecting about 1 in 100 babies. Some of these kids spend months in the CVICU, and their parents and siblings are there with them for most of it.

MAJJK was started by families who spent a long time in the CVICU at Phoenix Children's. We work on the things families deal with outside of the medical care, like mental health support for parents, siblings, and caregivers, and help paying essential bills during long hospital stays. We also fund research.

The Heart Hike is about so much more than walking 3.1 miles. It's a chance for families, friends, supporters, and our community to come together and honor the difficult experiences that brought us here, celebrate our heart warriors, remember those we carry with us, and continue turning advocacy into action. Thank you for supporting the MAJJK Heart Family Foundation and helping us build a stronger community around pediatric heart families!

Scouted the Heart Hike 5K loop at Papago Park today and got more than we bargained for. A little rain, right amount, right spot, and the whole hillside turned into waterfalls for about 20 minutes. We're calling them MAJJKal falls 😄. See you out there October 3rd.
