🧡Today, September 30, is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. This day acknowledges the shameful legacy and ongoing harms of residential schools: the missing children, the families left behind, and the survivors. This day is also an opportunity to engage in thoughtful reflection and learning, and commit to meaningful acts of reconciliation.

We all have a responsibility to create a society where Indigenous Peoples are safe, supported, and able to thrive with dignity. Reconciliation is an ongoing action that requires us to dismantle systems of oppression, respect Indigenous rights and treaty law, and build relationships rooted in accountability and solidarity✊

Deepen your understanding of the treaties that shape the place we now call Toronto, by exploring A Treaty Guide for Torontonians, an interactive resource that examines the history of treaty relationships and encourages readers to reflect on their treaty responsibilities today: https://talkingtreaties.ca
