🧯 Be Ready for the Unexpected: Do You Know How to Use a Fire Extinguisher? 🔥✨

Having fire extinguishers in your home is a vital first line of defense—but knowing how to operate one quickly and effectively during an emergency is what truly keeps your household safe.

Whether you're dealing with a small kitchen flare-up or home fire safety during dry weather conditions, take a moment to review the essential PASS method with your family today! 🌵🛡️

📋 Remember the PASS Method:
📌 P - PULL the pin: Hold the extinguisher with the nozzle pointing away from you and release the locking mechanism.

🎯 A - AIM low: Point the extinguisher nozzle at the base of the fire, not at the flames.

✊ S - SQUEEZE the lever: Discharge the extinguishing agent slowly and evenly.

🧹 S - SWEEP side to side: Move the nozzle back and forth across the base of the fire until it is completely extinguished.

💡 Fire Extinguisher Quick Tips:
📍 Placement Matters: Keep an extinguisher on every level of your home, especially near the kitchen, garage, and workshop spaces.

⏱️ Check the Gauge: Inspect your extinguishers monthly to ensure the pressure gauge needle is in the green zone.

🚪 Know When to Evacuate: Fire extinguishers are meant for small, contained fires. If a fire spreads quickly or fills the room with smoke, get everyone outside immediately and call 911!

Proactive safety starts with knowing your equipment and having a plan.
