Brig. Gen. John Conley, Arizona National Guard Adjutant General says it best, “Seeing our Airmen and Soldiers competing shoulder to shoulder reinforces the joint-force mindset that is critical to meeting our combat readiness objectives.”
The Adjutant General’s Match serves as a model for building the warfighter culture of the future.
“This competition is the very essence of our ‘Ready Today, Stronger Tomorrow’ priority. It's where the fundamentals of lethality and readiness are forged under pressure,” said Brig. Gen. John Conley, Arizona National Guard adjutant general. “Seeing our Airmen and Soldiers competing shoulder to shoulder reinforces the joint-force mindset that is critical to meeting our combat readiness objectives.” More in comments.

**IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL ARIZONA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERS, FAMILIES, FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS** We urge you to write your Senators (and Representatives) in opposing SB1047.
This is Senator Rogers fifth year attempting this bill that hasn't passed in any state. Yet it passed the AZ Senate Military and Border Committee on Monday, February 16th.
It hasn't passed anywhere because it's a bad bill for the AZ National Guard. See comments for the details on why the National Guard Association of the United States is opposed, as well as your National Guard Association of Arizona.

Subject: Please Oppose SB1047 “Defend the Guard” Legislation
Dear Senator [Last Name],
I respectfully urge you to oppose any version of the so-called “Defend the Guard” legislation.
While the intent may be well-meaning, this legislation misunderstands the National Guard‘s role as the primary combat reserve of the U.S. Army and Air Force. Restricting the Guard’s ability to serve in federal Title 10 status unless Congress declares war would negatively impact training, readiness, and critical overseas missions.
The National Guard Association of the United States, along with The Adjutant’s General of the 54 states and territories, are unanimously and vehemently opposed to this legislation. This bipartisan group knows, far better than the groups promoting this legislation, what is in the best interest of the national guard. And they understand the potential devastating effects of this legislation.
Additionally, passage of this bill could place Arizona at risk of losing vital federal funding, equipment, and force structure, while also strengthening arguments within the Department of Defense to shift National Guard missions and infrastructure away from the states.
The National Guard’s dual state and federal mission is essential to national security, and this legislation would weaken both the Guard and Arizona’s ability to support that mission.
For these reasons, I strongly encourage you to vote NO on “Defend the Guard” legislation.
Thank you for your service and for your support of Arizona’s Guardsmen and women.
Respectfully,
[Your Name]

NGAUS continues to stand with our Soldiers, Airmen, and their families. During the ongoing government shutdown, NGAUS is urging Congress to pass the Pay Our Troops Act (H.R. 5401) to ensure service members receive their pay without interruption.
Those who serve our nation shouldn’t have to worry about a missed paycheck. 🇺🇸
NGAUS Pushes Bill to Pay Troops During Shutdown
NGAUS is leading the charge of National Guard and Reserve associations asking Congress to help pay service members on duty during the government shutdown, which is now in its second week.

🕯️ September 11, 2001, We Will Never Forget 🕯️
Today, we pause to honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the countless families forever changed.
We also remember the call to service that followed. For more than two decades, Arizona Citizen-Soldiers and Airmen have stood ready, answering that call at home and abroad.
As we reflect, we reaffirm our commitment: to serve, to protect, and to never forget. 🇺🇸
